FRC Fundraiser to Support Empower Yolo - BDOG2024

Empower Yolo provides critical services to enable those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking escape and rebuild their lives.

Women's Group: 

Support the Latina women's group, which meets in Woodland and Knights Landing, and offers community and understanding in a culturally sensitive environment. Women have been members from one to over twenty years finding solace and strength in being together. Some women are past clients and some are Promotoras who reach underserved communities sharing information and resources. 

They exchange insights on parenting, offer guidance on nutrition and exercise, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide resources on immigration.  The facilitator also brings in community educators to expand on those topics.

The community helps newcomers feel welcome and seen. Donate to Big Day of Giving now until 11:59 p.m. on May 2 to fund community activities and resources for the Latina women’s group. 

Play School Experience:

Kids do emotional, therapeutic work through play. The “Play School Experience” at Empower Yolo serves two missions:

1. Help parents learn strategies for bonding with their kids.

2. Enable kids to play and develop joy and creativity along with crucial neurological, psychological, and social skills. Bringing fellow parents and kids together, both groups find community, growing their belief in better possibilities ahead.

$80 provides 1 week of Play School Experience classes for a child and parent.

Empower Yolo has $50,000 in matching funds thanks to our generous matching donors.  Your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 when you give now until 11:59 p.m. on May 2.
