Sacramento Roller Derby combines the best skaters in the region and is built on a strong history of roller derby in Sacramento. Sacramento Roller Derby has represented Sacramento at national and international tournaments within the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Our league is made up of more than 100 active skaters dedicated to the amazing sport of roller derby. We offer three women's teams for ages 18+, two all-gender junior teams for ages 8-17, and a training program for skaters of all levels and ages.

Mission

Sacramento Roller Derby is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the empowerment of youths, women, and the Sacramento community through acts of philanthropy and volunteerism, participation in public events and entertainment, and by fostering athletic competition and camaraderie in the sport of flat track roller derby at local, national, and international levels.

Stronger Together: Sacramento Roller Derby stands for inclusivity, equity, and unwavering support for our trans, non-binary, migrant, disabled, and BIPOC community members. We believe now more than ever that we are stronger together.

A thriving community is built on care and action. We recognize the importance of showing up for each other, especially those who navigate multiple barriers in daily life. Roller Derby goes beyond borders, and we will continue the fight to create a safer, more inclusive space where members feel valued and empowered.

Change happens when we commit to collective care and solidarity with traditionally marginalized communities. Whether it's organizing support networks, ensuring access to necessary resources, using creativity to amplify voices, or simply checking in on each other, every effort matters.

Needs

Interest in roller derby continues to grow! Community involvement is part of our mission, and we want all community members to be able to participate as members, spectators, volunteers, and beyond. The financial impact poses a burden for many prospective and current skaters. Your donations allow us to grow our scholarship program and offer additional financial support to members. Financial assistance can be the key to providing skaters the opportunity to build confidence and lasting relationships through our programs. All scholarships and subsidies are provided confidentially. This Big Day of Giving we are raising unrestricted funds to build our scholarship program, which allows more adult and junior athletes to participate on our teams and as volunteer officials, regardless of income.

Your contributions will support:

$10 - Two hours of instruction in the training program for an adult or junior skater

$30 - Registration for one skater in one tournament with their team adult or junior skater

$40 - One month of membership dues for a junior skater

$45 - A uniform jersey for a new Junior or adult skater

$50 - A referee jersey for an on-skate volunteer or a shirt for a medic

$50 - One month of membership dues for an adult or junior skater

$50 - One session of athletic conditioning for an adult or junior skater

$100 - A subsidized (shared) hotel room and gas so that an adult or junior skater can travel to an away game with their team

Additional Needs:

Our Infrastructure:

Unrestricted funds to support the expansion project for a parking lot. We currently do not have enough parking spots during our games. Our fans, athletes and volunteers are sometimes parking blocks away. We need space for all to park close and safely at the venue.

Unrestricted funds to continue upgrades to make our newly opened warehouse more of a home. We are looking to commission local artists to paint murals on our blank walls.

Training Programs:

Unrestricted funds to empower others in personal growth as a participant in our training program.

Volunteers:

Sacramento Roller Derby is 100% comprised of volunteers. Our volunteers are referees, game officials, game day attendants, fundraising support, coaches, and medics. Volunteering is a great way to be part of our community without being a player!
