WSF has been a continuous non-profit for over fifteen years in Yolo County, supporting youth activities within the public school district. These activities include financial support of athletic, agricultural, creative arts, and music programs, as well as stipends for safety personnel such as cross-walking guards. Over the years, donations have provided uniforms for athletes, help with transportation costs to competitions, stipends for athletic coaches, supplies and funding for agricultural programs, funding for music programs to purchase supplies, and stipends for individuals essential to the safety of students. Current funding is needed to support TK through adults age 21 with funds to cover an in-office eye exam and prescription lenses for those with MediCAL or Partnership insurance who have failed the school vision exam. Approximately 35 percent of all students screened at the schools by school nurses for vision fail the screening and need to be seen by an eye doctor. Many lack funds or insurance.
