Africa House Sacramento is a nonprofit organization with the US 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, dedicated to serving as an African multicultural and community resource center. The vision of the Africa House reflects the many thoughts, ideas, dreams and deliberations of the various African diaspora communities over a long period of time.
In essence, we formed Africa House Sacramento to promote understanding and cooperation among the African diaspora and the broader Sacramento community, with the core value of Ubuntu or positive humanity and collective engagement; to create a "gathering place" for cultural connections and resiliency and inspire the next generation of youth leaders and cultural transmitters.
Africa House Sacramento was founded in January 2018 by a group of local community leaders who saw the need for a first space where the African diaspora could come together and share their culture with the wider Sacramento community. Africa House is proud to be the only organization of its kind in the region, and we are committed to promoting Africa's rich heritage through our programs and events.
The Africa House Sacramento is a multipurpose cultural educational center for Africans and African descendants and friends. We are committed to promoting the African culture through your our unique of art and entertainment. In addition to providing a safe space where our community to come together, we also offer classes that might help members discover their inner artist or learn how to make their own jewelry.
Our goal is to provide an environment where everyone can feel comfortable learning about themselves well also expressing themselves creatively. We strive to be an open-minded community that encourages diversity in all forms.
