Ball-Out Academy Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in Sacramento, CA, founded in 2019. We now serve youth ages 5-24 and their families, with a mission to provide personal development, academic support, social competence, and promote civic responsibility. Our programs include one-on-one mentorship, weekly sports activities, after-school programs, peer support groups, and parenting support spaces. While sports are central to our programs, we go beyond by offering holistic services.

We began in the Marina Vista (formerly known as Seavey Circle) and Alder Grove Community, and now serve over 16 schools across Sacramento City Unified School District and seven neighborhoods. Our group mentoring sessions, held twice a month, consist of 20 to 40 youths sharing experiences and receiving guidance. Our sports programs provide recreational opportunities and skill development, including sports camps and development clinics on weekends and evenings. Our workshops, both in-person and via Zoom, cover topics like racial inequity, financial literacy, and college readiness.

We have a strong background in serving youth ages 12-24. As leaders of the Kings and Queens Rise Basketball League, we serve over 300 youths from low-income communities across Sacramento, aiming to prevent third-party homicide and foster cross-neighborhood relationships.

We also partner with the school district as supplemental providers, offering after-school mentoring and sports activities and as part of the Safe Schools Team to prevent violence on campuses. Through these efforts, we build and strengthen relationships with our youth.

Needs

We Need Your Support to Build a Community Center

At Ball-Out Academy Inc., we are in urgent need of office space and a dedicated youth/community center. Our vision is to create a vibrant community center in the heart of the neighborhood we serve, an area that currently lacks adequate after-school spaces for our youth. Establishing this center will enable us to enhance our programs and truly uplift the community.

How Your Donations Will Help:

1. Community Center Development: We aim to build a safe and supportive space where our youth can thrive. This center will host a range of programs and activities that cater to the needs of our community.

2. Program Expansion: Your contributions will help us expand our youth and parent programs, providing essential resources such as mentors, counselors, and childcare for parents.

3. Nutritional Support: We also offer full-cooked meals prepared by local chefs, ensuring that our participants receive nutritious and delicious food.

Your support will make a significant impact on the lives of our community members. Together, we can create a positive environment where our youth can grow, learn, and succeed.
