About Dance On The Edge
At Dance On The Edge, we believe in the power of social dancing to break down barriers, bring people together, and create meaningful connections. Our mission is to provide free, community-centered Latin dance events that foster unity, well-being, and cultural appreciation. Through the energy of salsa, bachata, and cumbia, we create inclusive spaces where people of all backgrounds can move, connect, and experience the joy of dance.
Founded on the idea that dance should be accessible to everyone, Dance On The Edge removes financial barriers by offering free dance lessons and social dance opportunities in public spaces. Our events serve as a gateway to the arts, introducing thousands of people to social dance and encouraging them to engage with local dance studios, instructors, and musicians.
Our Impact
Dance On The Edge has grown into a vibrant movement, attracting over 1,200 attendees per event and cultivating a dedicated community. Each event begins with a free dance lesson led by experienced instructors, followed by an open dance session where people of all skill levels can practice, socialize, and build confidence on the dance floor.
We proudly support local artists, small businesses, and entrepreneurs by providing a platform for vendors, musicians, and performers. Our events not only bring people together but also stimulate the local economy, creating opportunities for growth in the arts and business communities.
Why We Exist
In an era where screens dominate social interaction, Dance On The Edge creates real-life connections that strengthen communities. Unlike traditional nightlife options, our events offer a safe, family-friendly, and welcoming atmosphere where people can engage in a healthy, positive, and social activity.
We focus on making dance an integral part of life—not just entertainment, but a tool for building relationships, improving mental and physical health, and fostering cross-cultural appreciation. Whether you’re stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or you’re an experienced dancer looking to share your passion, Dance On The Edge is a place where everyone belongs.
Expanding Our Reach
In addition to our flagship events in Old Sacramento and Elk Grove, we are expanding to new locations, including Stockton, to bring dance to even more communities. We are also developing an after-school dance program to introduce underserved youth to salsa and bachata, providing them with a healthy, constructive activity that encourages self-expression, discipline, and confidence.
