Davis Phoenix Coalition: Building a Stronger, Safer Community
In 2013, after Lawrence "Mikey" Partida was brutally attacked in a hate crime, his mother and community members came together to take action—forming the Davis Phoenix Coalition (DPC) to fight hate and create a safer, more inclusive community.
Today, DPC leads the charge in Yolo County, working to prevent violence, promote diversity, and uplift marginalized voices. Our programs include:
🔥 Anti-Bullying & Hate Crime Awareness – Educating and mobilizing to prevent harm.
🌈 LGBTQ+ Youth & Family Support – Safe spaces for queer youth (since 2017) and gender-diverse families (since 2015).
🎶 Empowering Spanish-Speaking Parents – Leadership workshops since 2021, resulting in real wins like mariachi music programs in schools.
🤝 The Culture of Community (2025) – A bold new initiative uniting nonprofits, faith groups, and local leaders to build resilience and solidarity in uncertain times.
Now more than ever, we need your support. Your donation fuels this work—creating real, lasting change in our community. Join us in standing up for justice, inclusion, and resilience.
