FamilyGreenSurvival was started in 2009 in Roseville, CA, with the mission to provide nutrition education and EndLocalHunger by providing wholesome, tasty, and easy to prepare meals to those facing hunger. The goal was to develop a variety of highly nutritious packaged meals that look good, taste good, and are easy to cook. We discovered that too many of the food items donated to food banks by companies and neighborhood food drives consisted of poor-quality packaged meals - low quality fats, high sodium, excessive sugar, and devoid of immune system supporting antioxidants. We were fortunate to receive nutrition advisory services from Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente, and the Sacramento Native American Health Center. After extensive product formulations and taste testing our four packaged meals at Roseville Home Start, Kids First, REC Center, and Kaiser facilities in Oakland, Sacramento, and Roseville, we were able to produce nutritious, delicious, and easy to prepare meals. All of the meals are packaged by a company in Rocklin, CA.
"Just a note to say thanks from all of us, staff and families here at Home Start for a wonderful program that kicked off with the folks on October 19th. I know they all enjoyed the food, and seemed very interested in how highly nutritious the food is; which is GREAT! Thanks again for taking your time to teach and serve. We are all looking forward to receiving the BagOfLife® soon."

"Mr. Kapur has been my guest at Kaiser Permanente twice in the last year and has presented to the medical staff over a noontime communication session. All were impressed by both the program and the quality of the food, and all the meals are easy to prepare. If you can boil water, you can fix a meal of the BagOfLife®."
