For 50+ years, Feeding the Foothills (formerly Placer Food Bank) has worked tirelessly to provide a lifeline of essential food resources to those in need throughout El Dorado, Placer, and Nevada counties.

As one of 200 Feeding America food banks nationwide, we serve as the foothill region’s primary hunger-relief hub, managing essential food assistance programs and acting as first food responders during emergencies like wildfires, floods, and power outages. Our impact is made possible by the dedication of our staff, donors, volunteers, and community and corporate partners.

In FY 2023-2024, FTF distributed more than 11.3 million pounds of food, feeding 1.11 million individuals and utilizing more than 25K volunteer hours to support our daily operations. Through Feeding America food retail partners, every $1 in cash donations allows us to acquire $20 worth of wholesale groceries. This efficiency has enabled our 10 free PantryToGo drive-through food distributions to serve more than 1.6 million pounds of food to 128,000 individuals.

Although the expansion of our partner agency network and innovative distribution strategies has enhanced our efforts to provide access to fresh and healthy food, our purchasing power has plummeted. Due to inflation and reduced funding, our ability to turn $1 into $20 worth of wholesale groceries has now slipped to $1 only covering $12 worth of groceries.

This is where YOU come in. Thank you for your support!
