ABOUT US
Fitrah, derived from the Arabic language, means "a person's natural disposition at birth."
Our organization's vision is straightforward: we believe that every young person, regardless of their race, religion, or gender, is born pure, innocent, and deserving of a future full of opportunities to grow and thrive.
WORK: is our solution
Fitrah empowers vulnerable youth to build brighter futures through the real-world experience of running a social enterprise. They run an online bookreselling business where they are paid and given real-world experience, increasing responsibility, and one-on-one mentoring. This approach empowers the youth, helping them gain confidence and skills needed to envision and enact positive goals for a successful future. The program helps kids break through barriers and become contributing members of the community.
We work with the most vulnerable, underserved youth in Sacramento County - those who are in or out of the foster care system, court involved, homeless, or out of school - and we pay them to learn. Our two-phase program gives us measurable results and youth who are finally able to envision a positive, goal-oriented, and successful future for themselves.
This year, help us fund our summer program and help us pay our youth with stipends, transportation, our supportive staff, snacks for our youth and t-shirts!
Thank you for your continued support!
