FOURTH & HOPE
In 1985, the volunteers formally organized and created Yolo Wayfarer Center Christian Mission (now doing business as Fourth & Hope), a nonprofit organization. We are a faith-based community organization with nearly four decades of experience serving people needing housing, food, and recovery.
Empowering Lives Through Integrated Services: East Beamer Campus 💚
The East Beamer Campus is designed to be a community of support and hope that wraps its arms around everyone who enters our doors. By co-locating these services, we ensure that our residents have seamless access to a spectrum of resources, from immediate shelter to long-term housing and recovery support. Located in Woodland, this campus is more than just a collection of services—it's a vibrant community of hope and healing.
Our Comprehensive Programs Include:
Emergency Shelter: Our shelter offers 100 beds and operates 24/7. We provide serape dorms for men (60 beds) and women(40 beds). Here, individuals receive a place to sleep, meals, laundry facilities, postal and telephone services, and essential case management services. This first point of contact is a crucial gateway to further assistance and care within our continuum.
Walter's House II Residential Treatment: This 60-bed facility is dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance use disorder. The program is designed to provide comprehensive treatment, integrating physical, psychological, and medical care to support holistic recovery.
Permanent Supportive Housing: With 61 units available, this program offers long-term housing solutions beyond mere accommodation. Residents receive ongoing support tailored to their needs, helping them maintain stability and integrate successfully into the community.
We are part of the solution.
We transform one life at a time.
Bethany's journey from hardship to healing exemplifies the profound impact of Fourth & Hope. After losing her apartment and battling severe health issues, Bethany found herself homeless, struggling to survive on the streets.
Her turning point came when she was embraced by the caring community at Fourth & Hope's Emergency Shelter. "With Fourth & Hope's Emergency Shelter services and their support, I wouldn't have been telling this story," Bethany shares, her voice reflecting deep gratitude. Here, she found a safe refuge and received dedicated support that guided and helped her to secure disability benefits and critical medical care. This ultimately led her to a new home in a fully furnished unit from our permanent supportive housing program, symbolizing her regain of stability, hope, and healing.
Bethany's transformation is a powerful reminder that every life has value, and with compassionate and specialized support, we can facilitate profound change. Together, we can offer hope and healing, one story at a time!
Impact of Fourth & Hope
Our programs are crafted to address the needs of the most vulnerable, including veterans, chronically homeless individuals, families, and those facing mental health and substance use disorders. In 2023 alone:
- We provided emergency shelter and essential services to over 240 individuals, helping 41 transition into stable housing, and served 92,000 meals!
- Our Walter's House substance use disorder recovery program served 233 individuals, offering them a new path forward.
- Through our permanent supportive housing, 58 individuals found a new home, offering them security and a foundation for rebuilding their lives.
Our Vision Moving Forward: The increasing number of vulnerable populations requires a robust response. We are committed to expanding our services and enhancing our programs to meet these needs. Each donation we receive fuels our ability to provide critical services and change lives, much like we did for Bethany.
