$15,000 Goal

Reestablished in January 2021 with a mission to empower underserved mothers through holistic programs that foster healthy family environments, promote financial independence, and equip women with the  resources needed for stable employment and housing. Serving low-income, single, and unhoused women in areas like Del Paso Heights, River City District, and Meadowview, our organization is committed to promoting the well-being, educational advancement, and economic stability of underserved mothers.

In the last year, Mending of Mothers has made a significant impact, serving over 320 women. We’ve helped 13 unhoused mothers open bank accounts with a local Credit Union, provided housewarming baskets to 4 newly housed mothers, and partnered with organizations like Volunteers of America, SAFE Credit Union, and More Life Christian Academy to deliver lasting solutions.

Giving Activity

Mission

To create sustainable futures for underserved and often overlooked mothers in the Sacramento area

Needs

With increased funding, we have the opportunity to expand our generosity within our key initiatives, such as our "Parent University" program which is a comprehensive, year-long program designed to empower single and unhoused parents in the Del Paso Heights community. Delivered through in-person, weekly sessions and currently offered in 3 different locations.

· Sponsor a Mother: Empower a mother by funding vital resources such as:

1. Work Clothes to help her present herself confidently for job opportunities

2. Housewarming Baskets supplying practical items that make a new home welcoming and comfortable

3. Transit Fare to ensure reliable transportation for work, appointments, and essential errands.

4. Ensure that families have access to nutritious meals and the daily necessities that support a healthy lifestyle.

· Become a Volunteer: Our key initiatives are the heartbeat of our organization, and they thrive because of the passion and commitment of community volunteers. Your time is invaluable—every hour you volunteer directly contributes to creating a stronger, more supportive community.

Equity Statement

We believe that equity is more than a guiding principle— it is a promise of opportunity, dignity, and hope for every mother we serve. Our mission to create sustainable futures for underserved and often overlooked mothers in the Sacramento area is built on a deep commitment to dismantling the barriers that have long limited access to fair and stable employment and housing opportunities.

We proudly serve women and unhoused mothers in the communities of Del Paso Heights, River City District, and Meadowview, predominantly between the ages of 30 and 45. Recognizing the unique challenges they face, our work is rooted in our core values: holistic well-being, financial literacy, educational advancement, job readiness, and housing stability. These values not only shape our programs but also fuel our determination to empower every woman with the tools she needs to build a secure and prosperous future.

We are dedicated to creating an environment where equity is a lived reality. By advocating for systemic change and providing targeted support, we are paving the way for mothers to step into roles of leadership and self-sufficiency. Our commitment is unwavering, and with the strength of our community and the power of shared purpose, we are transforming lives.
