Founded in 1993, The Northern California Children’s Therapy Center (CTC) is a nonprofit organization committed to a mission that no child should go through life with a disability that could be aided or prevented through early intervention. CTC provides access to high quality early intervention services for disabled children who are at-risk, low-income, or uninsured and under-insured. CTC’s services include: Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Child Development Services, Infant Development Program, Tribal Early Education and Outreach Program, Therasuit, Music Therapy Groups, and Weekly Family Support Play Groups. CTC also provides free formal developmental screening to any child through our Help Me Grow Yolo program. CTC is a 501c3 (TIN: 68-0309705) governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community member and parents.
CTC serves all children aged birth through 21 years, regardless of their ability to pay. CTC specializes in working with children 0-5 years old. Over the past 3 years CTC’s need for services has increased 16%. This growth in need mirrors our internal developmental screening data which shows that the children born during the pandemic are showing 15-20% increase in developmental delays--especially in the areas of speech and language development, social & emotion skills, gross motor movement skills. Due to this sharp increase in need, and shortage of providers, CTC’s waiting lists have grown to over 250 children waiting for our essential early intervention services. To support our community’s children in need we have added to our array of services to include free developmental screening, free daily developmental playgroups, and free resource & referral services.
CTC is committed to meeting the evolving developmental needs of the children in our community regardless of their ability to pay. With funding support, we hope to be able to increase our capacity to serve these children on our waiting lists and provide more free developmental playgroups. Below are some service highlights from the last year:
- 835 children were served in our PT, OT, and Speech Therapy programs
