The Orangevale-Fair Oaks Community Foundation exists to create opportunities to give and serve in Orangevale and Fair Oaks, creating a community where everyone can flourish. We have five major programs that we support in order to reach our mission. The Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank is one of our programs that serves over 30,000 people in need with healthy food distributions four days a week. The Food Bank Farm is a one-acre farm that harvests over 14,500 lbs. of fresh, organically grown vegetables each year. This produce is mainly distributed to those in need through our Food Bank distributions and is also available as a seasonal subscription box. Fair Oaks and Orangevale HART is a homeless outreach program that strives to encourage those experiencing homelessness to take the next best step through a weekly shower program, meal distributions and through the use of a navigator that is able to assist them with legal needs. Big Day of Service is an annual organized day of service where over 800 people come together to complete 50 or more service projects throughout Orangevale and Fair Oaks. The Orangevale Teen Council is a group of 40+ active teen council members who plan and host safe and fun family friendly events, events for their peers, as well as service projects that benefit teens in need such as Teens Helping Teens Supply Closets at our local high schools. Additionally, we have many smaller compassion projects that create volunteer and donor opportunities as well as serving practical needs in our community. We believe the concept of "neighbors helping neighbors" creates a path toward a more flourishing community.
