Needs
According to the 2018 American Community Survey, Sacramento County has 52,465 Filipinos or 3.4% of its estimated 1,540,975 residents. Despite our population growth and active social, political and civic life in the Sacramento region, the community has no "home away from home" that it can call the heart of the community. PRHF is here to continue the work to build a community center.
During COVID-19, PRHF has helped to deliver meals to our seniors, conducted events and outreach to our kababayan facing isolation, distributed information on COVID-19, and hosted digital training programs to ensure digital access and equity for community members with a focus on our elderly. We intend to build on these programs to serve our elderly and our community members in direst need.
Additional programs will include history arts, and culture projects; workshops such as English as a Second Language classes; Tagalog classes; computer training for youth and adults; leadership seminars and mentoring opportunities; job assistance workshops; financial literacy classes; immigration workshops and citizenship classes; and, health and wellness programs, including promotion of Medi-Cal.
PRHF is currently recruiting potential board members who can help in our fundraising, marketing, and programmatic priorities.
