Raise Your Hand Foundation (RYHF) is a volunteer organization working in Liberia, West Africa, a country deeply impacted by 14 years of civil war and in 2014, the Ebola crisis. To date we have sponsored over 2,600 young Liberian men and women in vocational, community college, and university programs, equipping them for critically needed careers of service to their nation.
Throughout Liberia and the Sacramento region we are known as the "RYHF Family". Beyond scholarships, our team works hard to foster meaningful relationships across the continents and between students of all ethnic and religious backgrounds on our Liberian campuses. Under the motto VISION, COURAGE, SERVICE, we walk alongside our students as they navigate the challenges of extreme poverty. We celebrate big life events with them. We mentor, counsel, help with career planning, and write letters of recommendation. From Sacramento to deep in the "bush" in Liberia, the RYHF Family is united in a common belief: Opportunity creates a path for a life of contribution and purpose. The community we've built helps our students walk down that path with greater joy and confidence.
RYHF Speaker's Bureau:
Through our Speaker's Bureau we offer customized presentations for local college courses, philanthropic organizations, and classroom assemblies. Our years of experience provide a wealth of inspirational stories, with topics that include the care of orphans and widows, tackling health challenges and medical care, women's issues, and education at all levels. We seek to introduce one of the poorest countries in the world to our audiences, with all that includes - Liberia's beauty, culture, historical ties to America, and the brave, resilient people we've had the privilege to work with for 15 years.
