Summitview is a private, nonprofit organization licensed by the State of California to provide a variety of mental health services to children and families. We offer outpatient mental health, wraparound, residential treatment, special education services for adolescent boys and girls, as well as a home specializing in working with sex trafficked youth. Although we treat a variety of psychological problems and symptoms, the residential treatment program specializes in treating adolescent boys and girls who are suicidal and engage in self-harm behavior. In addition, we provide mental health services to adults with mental illnesses in El Dorado County.

Summitview Academy is the educational component of Summitview Child & Family Services, Inc. Summitview Academy is a certified nonpublic school that provides individualized special education and supplemental mental health services for students whose needs cannot be met in a less restrictive setting. Class size is limited to no more than fourteen students staffed by one credentialed teacher and two teaching assistants. Traditional academics coupled with a strong system of behavior management are the key elements of the nonpublic school. Summitview Academy also offers a Vocational Skills Coach in addition to a comprehensive Independent Living Skills curriculum as well as extracurricular activities such as art, sports, music, and academic clubs, to the extent that they are consistent with each pupil's IEP.

Summitview is a relationship based culture, as it is believed through connection and hope, youth and families have the best possible chance of success. We embrace the uniqueness and individuality of all, including full inclusion of the LGBTQ community. We believe each and every individual is deserving of permanency. Our culture is one of support and nonjudgment. We meet those we serve and all others "where they are at", employing empowerment and healing in all our practices. It is our guiding principles that define our culture including: safe, trauma informed and stable connection. The environment celebrates diversity. There is an approach to crisis which includes that no individual can "fail" treatment. Our culture is focused on client centered and strength based care. We value each and every staff member and person we serve.

Mission

Our mission is to provide youth, adults, and families with a foundation for healthy, lasting relationships by fostering positive changes within themselves through an environment of inclusion, compassion, and support.

Needs

Every new client that walks into the Summitview program is greeted with a welcome basket and entirely new bedding! Donations received would go towards making up the welcome baskets and purchasing cozy, comfy bedding supplies making our clients feel like family from the get go!

Our program has expanded exponentially over the years and we continue to grow! That amazing growth brings space availability challenges and our Non Public School and Administrative Building is bursting at the seams!

Our long term fundraising goal is to work towards a new facility that will accommodate all aspects of our program!

Our clients benefit from a Mentor program, we are always looking to add volunteers!

We have a very active, committed Board of Directors who support the Leadership team and The Agency as a whole! We are always actively looking for new Board members with an experienced background in the educational or mental health field.

We try to make all holidays special for our clients, any donations are welcome for Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Valentines, etc.
