Equity Statement
At SacCLT, we are dedicated to serving historically discriminated communities. These communities include First Nations/Native American, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Black, Arab/Middle Eastern, refugee, undocumented and documented immigrants, LGBTQIA, youth, people with disabilities, those who are housing insecure, and formerly incarcerated individuals.
We acknowledge that inequalities are deeply rooted in systems and structures, not just individual actions. Our primary objective is to preserve affordability and community cohesion by preventing displacement. We aim to stabilize residents, expand homeownership, ensure neighborhood control of assets and opportunities, and build shared community wealth.
We recognize the importance of intersectionality and understand how different forms of oppression can overlap and affect individuals in unique ways. We are committed to building community power to ensure more equitable development. SacCLT will actively convene and build the capacity of resident leaders and community groups to influence activities both within and outside our control.
We value smart growth and are committed to promoting energy conservation, transit-oriented development, and infill, while avoiding sprawl and developments that negatively impact our environment.
Diversity and inclusion are at the core of everything we do. Financial limitations will not prevent anyone from becoming a member. All business conducted by SacCLT will adhere to a strict code of conduct and non-discrimination provisions. We strive for transparency in all our activities to ensure accountability to our members.
We are committed to actively identifying and challenging biases within our organization and community. Our community-centered approach emphasizes listening to and partnering with marginalized communities to understand their needs and priorities.
Finally, SacCLT prioritizes financial sustainability and strategic investments. We utilize data to identify disparities and measure the effectiveness of our equity initiatives. We will not accept funding from organizations that require actions contradicting our values.
