Support the Arts. Support the Future.

Since opening our doors in June 2012, Musical Mayhem Productions, Inc. (MMP) has become a cornerstone of performing arts education in Elk Grove and Sacramento. Over the years, we've impacted thousands of young lives by producing more than 200 full-length, Broadway Jr., and Broadway Kids workshops and performances. From our humble beginnings with Disney's The Jungle Book, Kids, with just nine cast members and four shows, to our largest production, Disney's Frozen Jr., which involved 123 cast members and reached over 4,000 audience members, MMP continues to grow in both scale and impact.

But we don't just put on shows – we believe in the transformative power of the arts. MMP has produced over 50 school musicals, filling a crucial gap where performing arts education is often cut due to budget constraints. Through our partnerships with local charter schools and home-school programs, we’ve offered high-quality performing arts education to students who otherwise might not have access to these vital experiences.

Our Master Academy and Apprentice Academy programs are the heart of our educational mission. With a focus on Acting, Singing, and Dance, our students work year-round to develop their craft and achieve excellence. Our program also includes educational trips to top-tier destinations like Disneyland, Disney World, New York City, and the Junior Theatre Festival, where our students have earned national recognition for their outstanding performances. Most recently, we were honored with the Outstanding Performance award for our edit of Disney Newsies Jr. at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta.

As a pilot program for Musical Theatre International (MTI), MMP has had the incredible opportunity to produce new adaptations of Broadway shows for young performers before they are released to the public. Productions like The Drowsy Chaperone Jr., Cats, Jr., 13 The Musical Jr., Shrek Kids, Hans Christian Anderson, Jr., DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon, Jr., Dinsey's Dare To Dream, Jr., and Once Upon A Once More Time, Jr. not only give our students an inside look at the creative process but also ensure that they are part of a legacy of shaping musical theater for future generations.

In 2024, we launched the Alumni Workshop Program and Field Trip Shows, allowing local elementary students the chance to experience live theater for the first time. Many of these students are introduced to the arts in a way that broadens their horizons and opens their minds to new avenues of self-expression. The power of the arts is immense, and ensuring that young people can access and appreciate live theater is crucial to sustaining its impact in our community. The cast of these productions are college age adults who were in the MMP program before aging out.  It is a great full circle moment for them to inspire the new generation of young people - like they were once inspired years ago.

But we can't do it alone. We rely on the generosity of individuals like you to continue providing these life-changing opportunities. Your donation directly supports our ability to keep our programs running, offer scholarships to deserving students, and continue giving back to the community. Each year, our Master Academy students also create The Gift of Theatre Night, a charity event where we collect donations for various local causes, from children’s books for UC Davis Children's Hospital to pet toys for the Elk Grove Animal Shelter.

Whether you are passionate about performing arts education, community outreach, or fostering the next generation of talent, your support is invaluable. Every donation, big or small, helps us continue to nurture talent, build confidence, and give back to the community.

Join us in our mission to ensure that the arts remain a vital part of our children's education. Together, we can create a future where the arts continue to thrive, inspire, and transform lives.

Needs

As we continue to navigate through challenging economic times, we are reaching out to our community for support to help us reach our goal of $50,000. With inflation affecting nearly every aspect of our operations, we are struggling to keep our doors open and continue to offer the vital services we provide.

General Funding: The rising costs of essential items—such as show rights, shipping materials, office supplies, and utilities—are making it increasingly difficult for us to maintain our daily operations. Without additional funding, we risk being unable to meet the growing demands placed on our organization. Your generous contribution will help us cover these necessary expenses and ensure we can continue offering the programs and services that our community relies on.

Studio Maintenance and Improvements: Our physical space also requires attention. From routine maintenance to necessary improvements, we want to ensure our studio is a safe, welcoming environment for all who visit. Your donation will directly support these improvements, allowing us to maintain a space that fosters creativity, collaboration, and growth for those we serve.

Scholarships: We believe in making our programs accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. To support this commitment, we offer scholarships to low-income families based on an application process. Your support will help us continue providing these scholarships, ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent talented individuals from participating in our programs.

We ask for your help in reaching our $50,000 goal. Your generosity will directly impact our ability to continue offering scholarships, maintaining our space, and covering essential costs. We are grateful for your ongoing support and dedication to our mission.

Together, we can ensure that our doors remain open for years to come, continuing to serve and empower those in need.
