Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving California’s rich railroad history.
Our mission is to protect, preserve, and develop the Folsom-Placerville railroad right-of-way, celebrating its legacy through the creation and operation of a sustainable community heritage railroad for the benefit, use, education, and enjoyment of the general public.
We operate scenic train excursions and motorcar rides year-round over 15 miles of track between Folsom and Latrobe on Southern Pacific Railroad’s historic Placerville Branch in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains of northern California.

We have multiple projects going on at any giving time. Currently, we are looking for funds for the restoration of Southern Pacific Coach #2110, track improvements, station site building and improvements.
We are all volunteer run organization, and there are jobs for all levels of skill and experience and abilities.
We are looking for new Board member to fill the role of secretary.
We are looking for other items to help us continue our work.
Storage: Shipping containers so we can securely store our tools in our yard and out on the line at work sites
Construction Equipment: Woodchipper, Weedwackers, Generator, Jackhammers, Leaf blowers, Backhoe
Track Materials: Ties, Spikes, Ballast
The Placerville Branch is long, so we need track machines to improve the efficiency of our track restoration and maintenance efforts. We are currently looking to acquire the following machines: Spiker, Tie crane, Scarifier, Tie inserter, Railcars, Ballast hopper, Side dump car, Passenger car, Baggage car, 1st Class car.
