Voices of California is an award-winning men's a cappella chorus based in Sacramento, California. As part of the California Delta Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) - an international organization with over 1,000 chapters worldwide - we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the barbershop style of singing through high caliber performances and competitions. Competing as an all-male chorus, we have achieved 19th place worldwide in international competition and claimed our division chanmpionship 12 times since our inception in 2010. We also maintain multiple quartets within our membership. Our passion for music drives us to rehearse weekly, refine our craft and create entertaining shows that captivate audiences across the greater Sacramento area.
Our goals are the following: to preserve a unique American art form while bringing the rich tradition of barbershop harmony through performances, competitions, and community engagement; to enhance the local arts scene as a pillar of Sacramento's performing arts community; collaborating with other organizations and providing live musical entertainment throughout the region; investing in the next generations through youth outreach programs. We introduce young singers to the joys of acappella harmony, promote musical development, and offer an annual late summer singing camp. We also field a youth chorus to compete at national events when there are enough participants and also hold singing clinics at local high schools. Our chorus is built on diversity, camaraderie, and a shared passion for music. We provide members with opportunities to improve.
