Woodland's Dinner on Main

$20,000 Goal

Woodland's Dinner on Main began as an event to celebrate Woodland's downtown revitalization and to promote the incredible bounty of Yolo County's agricultural bounty. With a block-long harvest table down the middle of Main Street in downtown Woodland, it was an instant success. That meant we had to do it again, so we formed our nonprofit. We went from 250 guests at our inaugural dinner in 2016 to 576 guests in 2018 selling out in 12 hours in April for our September two-block long event. Our vision was to purchase products from local sources and to pass on a portion of our proceeds to nonprofits that shared our mission. We were able to support three nonprofits for $18,000.

We are thrilled the event has been embraced by the community, our sponsors, and our fellow nonprofits. Proceeds from the 2017 and 2018 have gone into the creation of Woodland's first urban edible garden in the center of our historic downtown. Situated at City Hall, this 2,000 square foot garden has replaced lawn with vegetables and fruit. The Edible Learning Garden will become a teaching site with produce going to the Yolo Food Bank, the children's farmers market, and our dinner menu.
