SARTA Loves BDOG 2024

Hi Friends of Community Theater

I know there are lots of folks like me that are theater nerds who enjoy the intimacy and diversity of community performances. During the pandemic we saw many of our local theaters suffer and some companies closed their doors. SARTA took time to re-invent themselves during pandemic to really look at our mission and vision and  to see what we should be focused on when it comes to supporting our theater community in the future. 

The first program we initiated was the Youth Education Scholarship program (YES) This allows us to offer financial support to the theaters with youth programs and allows more young people to engage with and enjoy the theater experience. We were fortunate to award over $2,000 last season and are looking forward to keeping this program well funded and available to more children and youth in our local area. 

 For the surviving theater companies and the new companies, we have created a new program to stipend the theater companies to help them get their shows on stage in the best way. Companies can come to us and make their case for support whether it is getting the rights to a show, making costumes, building sets, etc. 

The Microgrant for Theatres Program has already awarded its first check to a local company and requests are beginning to come in. We want to be able to offer this to as many theaters that need it but we need YOUR help to do this. Please consider making a generous contribution to SARTA today and help me reach this goal.
