Don's Mercy Coalition Fundraiser

I've been fortunate to be part of many remarkable and humbling projects in my life. I have never seen a more magical season than the one that Mercy Coalition is currently in, and I have never believed in any project more.

Food, clothing and housing are emergency needs for so many of our friends. But without exception, they all - we all - need something else: a supportive community around us. A place to find acceptance instead of rejection, hope instead of hopelessness, healing instead of compounded injury.

Around Recovery Cafe West Sac and all of our programming, this restorative community is the goal and the plum line. It's the special sauce that changes generational trajectories.  You see it in our JAM Academy workforce development program, and the classes of paid interns from our priority population. You see it in the Mosaic Village of programs and services springing up around the cafe. You see it in our School for Recovery, and our Thrive Lives life-skills meetings. You see an astonishing, joyful, interdependent ecosystem of health, hope and healing, where every person has worth and opportunity.

I'll tell you this for sure: Every dollar you give to MercyCo right now is building a unique social-services structure that will outlast us all. I am deeply - daily - inspired by our staff, board, volunteers, and served friends every day. There is contagious possibility here, and it gets more beautiful with every new addition to the mosaic.
