Greetings Friends! As you know, in January 2023 I joined the Meals on Wheels Yolo County Board of Directors, and in September of 2024, I expanded my commitment by becoming Board Treasurer. Shortly thereafter, Dan started delivering meals to our seniors in need. And even though he doesn't get to drive the cool MOW Yolo truck, he loves engaging with the meal recipients on his route! Being a part of MOW Yolo is an Abramson family affair!

The Big Day of Giving begins May 1st,  but like us, if you are eager to give, you are in luck because early giving begins April 17th! With governmental funds diminished and funding to the Older Americans Act potentially in jeopardy (that's 15% of our budget), the need for your financial support is greater than ever.  

MOW Yolo has served  Yolo County seniors  in need of nutritional support for nearly 50 years.  Today, MOW Yolo nourishes 1,000 food insecure, isolated seniors countywide, and is the only provider in Yolo County of predictable, regularly scheduled, fully prepared and ready-to-eat meals for seniors. MOW Yolo now produces and delivers 20,000 meals each month  Pretty impressive!

But we can't do it without you! Your support on this Big Day of Giving is the link that connects MOW Yolo's actions with healthier outcomes for vulnerable, isolated aging adults in our community. Yolo County thrives only when all residents are nourished, especially our elders.

Every $50 provides a vulnerable Yolo County senior citizen or mobility-limited resident with five healthy meals for a week. How many seniors will you assist, for how many weeks? At $2,500, you've nourished a local senior for a year!
