Rachel Timms GreenHouse Fundraiser

2024 marks my 10 year anniversary of moving out to California, and what a gift it has been to have the GreenHouse be a part of my story. The GreenHouse is one of the reasons I first came to Sacramento and I’ve now had the honor of serving on the board for the last five years. 

The Greenhouse serves their neighborhood block by drawing on the strengths of the community and working with families to address systemic issues that affect this often under-resourced area. In a time of chaos and uncertainty for many, the GreenHouse is able to offer a place of stability and refuge for those in the community. 

One of the programs I have loved getting to see the GreenHouse staff develop over the past few years is the internship program. What started as a summer intern program, has grown into paid year-round internships for teens in various industries including: photography, design, recreation, culinary, and more! 

Money raised this year at Big Day of Giving will go to help fund our annual budget including funding the internship program, making safety updates to the facility, and continuing to hire and maintain truly amazing staff.
