One Perspective on Placer High School

Why do I care and think this is a worthy cause? I moved to Auburn in 1987 and graduated from Placer High School in 1995. I had a pretty typical experience at high school: I was a good student, played sports, was in band, and made friends. I didn't really think it was that special. I didn't appreciate the uniqueness of the school or even Auburn as a community until I was in my 30s and raising my own children.

Now my children are seniors at Placer. They represent four generations at the same high school, and five generations in Auburn. Their great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents all married people they met at PHS. Placer High School plays a big role in all our lives. 

Now my daughters are preparing for college. I don't know if they will settle in Auburn and whether their children will be part of a new generation at PHS or not. But I know for sure that there's no other school, and no community like this out there.
