Hi everyone, my name is Jose - Lead Outreach Specialist with The Ring of Democracy! Here at The Ring we engage, educate, organize, and mobilize Black, Brown, and other historically marginalized people to build power for themselves and their communities. We get in "The Ring of Democracy" to fight against threats to our communities.

Throughout my year here, we have already been putting in the work in our communities! Last year under the California Workplace Outreach Project we tabled at over 70 community events, talked to over 7-thousand community members, and passed out over 27-thousand pieces of educational literature! With volunteers from Sacramento Job Corps, we helped to canvass and knock on approximately 4-thousand doors. We sponsored over 100 free haircuts for kids going back to school across Sacramento. We were chosen to be Sacramento County's Community Ambassador for We Prosper Together's Catalyst Fund in the Capitol Region!

This year you've seen us host a forum for We Prosper Together, partner with the UC Davis Labor Center, Sacramento Central Labor Council, and Capitol City SDA to host the Immigrant Defense Community Forum! We helped H. Allen Height Elementary School with their very first resource fair! We've been educating the community on workers' rights and immigration rights. We showed solidarity with IBEW 1245 and Boilermakers Lodge 549 in their attempt to organize workers at SIEMENS. We launched "Champions of the Ring", where we honor community leaders in Sacramento!

We at The Ring of Democracy have been fighting the good fight. Help us fight by supporting us in the Big Day of Giving! Join us and let's fight for democracy! 💥🥊
