Why I Love The Root: Kavisa

How I've Been Involved with The Root:

I took prenatal yoga classes with both of my pregnancies in 2017 and 2021. After receiving my prenatal yoga teacher training, I have been teaching at The Root since 2022. 

Why I'm Supporting The Root's continued Sustainability and Expanded Services:

I love the supportive community at The Root. The space is truly unique in Sacramento - the offerings for education, wellness, and exercise help a parent during the sacred and intense times of pregnancy and postpartum. It's a place where you can cry, exercise, learn, make mom/dad/parent friends, and feel a bit more at home in your changing body.  I'd love to see The Root expand its services into other areas of Sacramento, with an emphasis on serving low-income and marginalized clients - your donation will make this possible. 

Note From The Root Team:

This Big Day of Giving we are hoping to raise a total of $10,000 to put towards programming for our non-profit to offer class vouchers to the constituents of our partners at the Valley Hi, Meadowview and La Familia family resource centers.  In addition this campaign will allow us to continue our programming at The Root's flagship location in East Sacramento in addition to supporting our continued pilot of pop-up classes throughout Sacramento both at the family resource centers and other community locations.  

No parent should go into their birth and postpartum journeys without feeling equipped to navigate the complex perinatal systems in our area.

It is our goal that every pregnant family in Sacramento have access to the fitness, educational and community supports that The Root provides, without cost being a barrier.
