Goodwill Industries® of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, Inc. is a non-profit 501(C)(3) social employment enterprise that provides comprehensive workforce development programs and wrap-around services to individuals in our community with the greatest barriers to employment, including veterans, homeless, individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, the formerly incarcerated, and many more. In 2023, Goodwill provided over 16,940 life-changing services to members of our community. These services include vocational training, paid work experience, job coaching, and interview clothing assistance– providing holistic support to those we serve. Our retail stores and donation sites create an employment platform for job training and a funding stream for our community-based workforce development programs. The goal of these programs is to place people who are historically excluded from participation in the workforce into community-based, integrated, competitive employment. Giving Activity

Mission

Our mission is to utilize Goodwill resources to help people with disadvantages achieve self-sufficiency. Our vision is to leverage our donated goods retail enterprise to optimize our outreach in the communities we serve. Our direct and indirect service delivery is characterized by relevance, excellence and cost effectiveness. We aim to add value to the lives of all people with whom we interact and challenge them to achieve their full potential.

Needs

Participant Programs:

Goodwill tailors its programs to suit the individual needs of each participant. Although we receive funding from our retail enterprise to support our programs, it does not cover all the needs. Your donation will ensure that we can continue to provide comprehensive support to each participant as they strive for success and self-sufficiency.

Community Support:

Goodwill provides free interview skills, resume building and financial literacy workshops and interview clothing vouchers to the community. Your donation will support these vital community services.

Employer Partnerships:

We are always looking for employers who are willing and able to open their doors to support our participants as they develop the work skills necessary to be successful in the workforce, while practicing the skills taught in our program. Our participants are ready and eager to work; they just need an opportunity to demonstrate and cultivate their abilities.
