Demand for our services, especially in the Food Locker, continued to grow in 2024, placing a strain on us. The number of households utilizing our Food Locker grew by 41% in 2024. Whereas in 2023 we assisted an average of 88 households per day, by the end of 2024 that had risen to 124 households per day. In total, almost 19,000 households utilized our Food Locker in 2024. It is due to all of you that we have been able to keep up so far. But the Food Locker is now bursting at the seams.

            Given this, we have begun a planning effort to remodel the warehouse to keep up with the needs in our community. With more people comes the need for more food and for more storage. We are in need of more cold storage, and are looking at adding a new and larger walk-in refrigeration unit. This will require us to do some reconstruction of the warehouse to fit the additional unit. We are also creating a plan to improve the flow of goods coming into and out of the food locker.
